Away Message is a Syracuse, NY cover band dedicated to the sacred art of making grown adults scream the lyrics to songs they haven't listened to since high school.
We play the biggest pop-punk and emo hits of the 2000s and 2010s – the songs you had burned onto a mix CD and plastered all over your MySpace. Our goal is simple: play the songs right, play them loud, and give everyone an excuse to sing along like it's 2007 again.
If you miss the era when your hair was questionable, your jeans were too tight, and every song was somehow about your ex, we're probably your kind of band.

What We Are
Away Message exists for one simple reason, to crush the songs we all grew up to. We’re a Syracuse, NY cover band bringing the biggest songs of the 2000s and 2010s back to life – loud, accurate, and with absolutely no shame about the nostalgia. Our catalog spans the bands that soundtracked an entire generation: blink-182, Yellowcard, Brand New, The All-American Rejects, and plenty more.
We don’t do “close enough.” Every song is carefully chosen and performed as faithfully to the original as possible, because if we're going to drag everyone back to Senior Year, we're going all the way.
The goal isn't just to play a bunch of songs people recognize. It's to recreate the feeling: the bus rides, the burned CDs, the AOL instant messages, the questionable haircuts, the dramatic breakups, and the absolute conviction that this song was written specifically about you.
We're here to bring the nostalgia, to make you sing, and to make you wonder why you ever thought it was just a phase.
